Second in Triple Jump at Sparky
Adams Invite

Youngstown State freshman Robyn Ray
finished second in the triple jump
and sprinter Kari Kreutzfeld earned
two top-three finishes at the Sparky
Adams Invitational on Saturday.
Ray leaped a personal-best 36-5 1/2 in the triple jump, which
ranks her third in YSU history and
fourth in the Horizon League this
season.
Kreutzfeld tied her personal-best mark in the 200m (25.41) to
finish third and added a third-place
time in the 400m (56.99). She also
anchored YSU's second-place 4x400m
relay, ran the second leg of the
4x100m relay and finished eighth in
the 100m (11.55).
Darcelle Formby added a fourth-place finish in the 200m
(25.44) and a 10th-place finish in
the 100m (12.62), and Emily Wollett
placed sixth in the 400m (1:00.85).
In the middle distance events, Jennifer Roman finished fifth
in the 800m with a personal-best
time of 2:20.03 while Marielle Glanz
placed three spots back in eighth
(2:20.77).
In the throws, Lindsey Hill finished fifth in the shot put
(42-1 1/4) while Amy Hill was fifth
in the discus (136-1). Jacquline
Clonch placed sixth in the discus
(130-6), and Bethany Anderson,
Lindsay Cobey, Amy Hill, Alexis Hall
and Lindsey Hill all placed in the
top eight in the hammer.
On the men's side, Scott Streiner finished sixth in the 200m
(22.34) and Eric Baltputnis placed
10th in the 100m (11.31) to
highlight the sprinting events. The
two also teamed up with Shayne York
and Clarence Howell to finish second
in the 4x100m relay.
In the field events, Marty Vieth tied for sixth in the high
jump (5-10), and Dom DeFilippo
placed eighth in the hammer
(153-10).
Members of the men's squad also competed at the Hillsdale
"Gina" Relays over the weekend. J.D.
Sheppard ran a season-best time of
1:53.71 in the 800m to move into
third in the Horizon League
rankings, and Dan Nemergut ran a
personal-best time of 9:53.22 in the
steeplechase. |
