Bob Atterholt
- Men's
Basketball (1954-58)
- Inducted
1990
While at nearby Sharon (PA)
high school, one just had the feeling that Bob Atterholt was going to be a success not only on the
hardwood, but in life as well. A First Team All
State selection in both 1953 and 1954, he was a
First Team high school All American pick in 1953.
He chose to attend Youngstown State University, and
head coach Dom Rosselli looks back on that decision
as one of the happiest days he has ever had while
on the recruiting trail. Atterholt played for the
Penguins from 1954 to 1958, and his 1,130 career
markers ranks him 16th on the all time
career scoring list. He was named Small College All
American his senior eyar for the Penguins, yet his
fondest memories of those days was his association
with Dom Rosselli as both a player and friend, and
the great fans that jammed the South High School
Field House is what he will cherish most. He is
currently a production foreman with the Damascus
Tube Company of Sharon, PA. Bob married the former
Lois Riley, and they reside in Greenville, PA. they
have two children, Carla and Mark. Carla is married
and is expecting her first child. She and her
husband live in Hampton VA, and Mark lives in Cape
May, NJ. |
