An original member of the first football team at YSU in 1938, he was a
four-year letterman, going both ways but leaving his mark as one of the greatest centers that
ever graced Penguin gridiron. He was the first professional gridder to come out of YSU, playing
for the Detroit Lions in 1942. He is a former assistant coach for YSU and a former head coach
at his alma mater, Campbell Memorial High School.
