Penguins Volleyball Falls to Butler
in Five Games
Indianapolis, Ind. --
Youngstown State (6-6, 0-1 Horizon
League) placed four players in
double figures in kills and led
two-games-to-one but dropped a
hard-fought decision to Butler (6-5,
1-0 Horizon League),36-34, 29-31,
30-26, 25-30, 10-15, on Friday
evening at Hinkle Field House.
Sophomore Ruth Boscaljon led the
Penguins with a season-high 21 kills
with a .319 hitting percentage and
six blocks.
Senior Jessica Fraley and junior
Ebony Barbosa each tallied
double-doubles with 14 kills and 17
digs and 14 kills and 12 digs,
respectively.
Sophomore Allison Heinz recorded 12
kills and five blocks while freshman
Laurie Shives posted a career-best
27 digs. Sophomore Dana Leslie added
17 digs and junior setter Karla
Everhart just missed a triple-double
with eight kills, 50 assists and 13
digs.
The Penguins visit Wright State,
Saturday, at 4 p.m. |
