High Turnout, Strong Sponsor Support Make Another Successful Golf Outing

Hubbard, Ohio -- The Youngstown State Women's Basketball program welcomed 29 foursomes and numerous sponsors and supporters to its annual golf outing on Wednesday at Pine Lakes Golf Course.

The fund-raising event brought in nearly 120 golfers, which was an increase of more than 40 from the 2008 event. Clear Channel of Youngstown was the premier sponsor.

Golfers were treated to doughnuts and coffee in the morning, a boxed lunch on the course and a buffet-style dinner. The event also featured a 50/50 drawing and numerous Chinese Auction items.

Jack Colonna and his scramble partners Jack Cramb, Dan Gorski and Dennis Krancevich took the best overall score with a 12-under par 60 to win the men's division. Colonna, Cramb and Krancevich finished second last year.

The "Joe" Dickey Electric, Inc. foursome of Kim Geiger, Sandy DiMargio, Pat Berry and Denise Gorski shot 68 to win the women's division, and the Clear Channel group of Gerry Schreiber, Tom Schreiber, Terry Skibo and Bob Skibo claimed the mixed title with a 65.

In the skill prizes, Bob Bruno won the men's long drive while Pam Holisky had the longest shot from the tee by a woman. Ben Volosin was closest to the pin on the No. 6 hole, and Tim Stuart hit the longest putt on the eighth hole.

Mac Donnatelli won first place in the putting game, and Cramb finished second.

The 2010 golf outing is scheduled for Aug. 20.
