Collection for Beatitude House Set for Nov. 22 Women's Hoops Game
    Youngstown -- The Youngstown State women's basketball team will collect needed items for the Beatitude House of Youngstown at its game on Nov. 22 against Canisius.
    Donations will be collected in the front lobby of Beeghly Center before, during and after the game. The project is being organized by women's basketball player Kaitlyn March for her senior community service project. Release
Nortey Scores Career-High 20 as Guins Fall 70-55 to Kent State
Macey Nortey       Youngstown -- Youngstown State's Macey Nortey scored a career-high 20 points to lead three guards in double figures, but Kent State overcame an early deficit and kept the Guins at arms length in the second half to win 70-55.

Penguins Welcome Kent State in Home Opener Wednesday
Makala Gasparek       Youngstown -- The Youngstown State women’s basketball welcomes Kent State to the Beeghly Center in the Penguins’ home opener Wednesday. The game is the first half of a doubleheader with the YSU men’s basketball team. YSU went 0-2 at the Elon Tip-Off Classic while Kent State beat Robert Morris 62-57 in its season opener. Quick Start for High Point Leads Panthers Past YSU

    Elon, N.C. -- High Point got off to a fast start offensively, and YSU never found its shooting stroke as the Panthers defeated the Penguins 73-50 on Saturday at Elon University's Alumni Gym.
   Freshman Brandi Brown recorded her first career double-double, finishing with a team-high 14 points and 11 rebounds. Fellow post Rachael Manuel scored a career-high 11 points. Release | Stats | Audio
Guins Face High Point Saturday in Quick Turnaround

    Fewer than 22 hours after its season opener concluded, Youngstown State continues its stay at the Elon Tip-Off Classic Saturday evening with a contest against High Point. Tip-off against the Panthers is set for 7 p.m. On the first day of the Classic, YSU fell 86-66 to Elon, and High Point lost 70-67 in overtime to Navy. Release | Live Stats | Live Audio
