Marielle Glanz Earns Weekly Horizon League Honor

Indianapolis -- Youngstown State senior Marielle Glanz (Liberty Center, Ohio) has been named the women's cross country Horizon League Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Glanz, the lone senior on the squad, was the top finisher for the Penguins at the All-Ohio Championships on Friday afternoon. She was the second Horizon League runner to cross the finish line with a 5K time of 20:34.1, and she helped lead the Penguins past league opponents Wright State and Cleveland State.
Glanz is the first YSU cross country athlete to earn the Horizon League's weekly award this season and the first since Jeremy Riehm on Oct. 12, 2004. Lisa Davis was the last women's athlete of the week on Oct. 22, 2003.
The Penguins will compete in the Falcon Invitational this weekend in their final meet before the Horizon League Championship on Oct. 28.
