Dickman Named U.S. Army Horizon League Male Scholar-Athlete of the Month

    Indianapolis, Ind. -- The Horizon League has announced that YSU junior runner Justin Dickman (Van Wert, Ohio) has been named the U.S. Army Horizon League Male Scholar-Athlete of the Month for August/September.
    Dickman is the first Penguin to ever be awarded this Scholar Athlete of the Month since the league initiated the award in August of last year.

    Dickman has a GPA of 3.95 and is a political science major. This season Dickman has posted the best time in all three cross country meets for the Penguins.

    Dickman finished in sixth with a four-mile time of 21:11 at the Tommy Evans. He finished in 28th with a 5.2-mile time of 27:40 at the Spiked Shoe Invitational and  finished in 80th with a time of 26:29 at the Notre Dame Invitational.
    Dickman and the rest of the Penguins will return to action Friday when they compete in the All-Ohio Championships in Delaware, Ohio.
