The Youngstown State University ASCE is no stranger to success. Throughout the years, the team has won several awards at the Ohio Regional Valley Conference and has participated in national competions sponsored by the ASCE. From bridges to canoes and everything in between, there is not much that the Youngstown State University ASCE doesn't do well.

Awards won at the 2008 Ohio Valley Student Conference:

Steel Bridge Team:
  • 2nd Place: Best Overall
  • 1st Place: Structural Efficiency
  • 1st Place: Lightness
  • Advanced to the national competition at the University of Florida
Concrete Canoe Team:
  • 3rd Place: Best Overall
  • 3nd Place: Best Overall Product
  • 3nd Place: Best Oral Presentation
  • 3nd Place: Men's Slalom/Endurance Race
  • 3nd Place: Women's Slalom/Endurance Race
  • 3rd Place: Men's Sprint Race
Wastewater Treatment Team:
  • 1st Place: Best Technical Review Paper
  • 3st Place: Most Economical Apparatus
Concrete Horseshoes:
  • 2nd Place: Best Overall
