The Concrete Canoe The Concrete Canoe Competition is sponsored by the ASCE and involves a canoe that the students designed and fabricated using lightweight concrete. The Concrete Canoe Competition consisted of a design paper, an oral presentation, canoe overall product, aesthetic judging, races, and an overall winner. The races consist of men and women's 200 meter sprints, men and women's 600 meter slalom/endurance races, and a co-ed 200 meter sprint with four people in the canoe at one time. Project Information Ž If you plan on being a paddler for the concrete canoe team you will need to fill out the Aqua Ohio Lakes Boating/Fishing Permit Ž Last years OVSC Regional Competition was held at Western Kentucky University on April 2-4. Ž The 2010 OVSC will be held at the University of Kentucky from April 22-24 Ž The 2010 National Concrete Canoe Competition will be held at CALIFORNIA POLYTECHNIC STATE UNIVERSITY - San Luis Obispo, California Ž Work has begun on the Concrete Canoe.
