Dear YSU Student:

On behalf of the newly established Office of Student Diversity Programs please allow us to welcome you to the start of a new school year at Youngstown State University . We are excited about the prospect of working with you to develop and implement new programming on the YSU campus.

Our desire is that you will partner with us to provide diversity enhanced programming. As our campus is increasingly becoming more multilingual, multiethnic, multicultural, multi-religious, multinational and multiracial our office will be providing technical assistance, programming assistance to individuals, student organizations and campus offices in order to cultivate and reflect the dynamic complexity of interest within our community.

Our goal is to provide a high quality service to our students that will communicate a message of inclusion, comfort and support from the institution as a whole. In order to facilitate our agenda there are two graduate assistants, a coordinator of student enhancement and several enhancement assistants in our office to assist you .

Additionally, please be aware that the Emergency Loan Fund and Work Experience Progam are also coordinated out of our office. A pamphlet detailing these programs is available in our outer office.

Our desire is to engage you as thoroughly as possible from the beginning of your experience at YSU and to enhance your comfort level in this environment/culture. We are here to help make your YSU experience the best that it can possibly be. So, please stop by the office with any ideas, concerns, or even just to meet our staff. We are located in room 2113 of Kilcawley Center , next to the bookstore. We look forward to working with you and assisting you.

Thank you for considering participation with the Office Student Diversity Programs.
