Upon completion of the Tech Prep program in Information Technology in high school and two years at Youngstown State University, you will receive an associate degree leading to a career in one of the following areas:
· Hardware support technician
· Software support technician
· Network technician
· Computer systems technician
· Office information specialist in publishing, legal, financial or medical fields

If you choose to exit the program after 12th grade, you will be qualified for a career as a:
· Software application specialist
· PC support specialist
· Computer Technician's assistant

Instruction includes the basics of Windows; Netscape; Microsoft Office software applications including Word, Access, Excel, and Power Point; HTML and web page development; two programming languages; network architecture and design. All students will build a computer and complete a workplace externship assignment. Instruction also includes significant hands-on, laboratory-based projects in the Tech Prep classroom, at YSU, and visits to local businesses.
