Upon completion of the Tech Prep program in Health Technology in high school and two years at Youngstown State University, you will receive an associate degree and be prepared for a career in one of the following areas:
· Paramedic
· Medical laboratory technician

Students will be prepared to take both the phlebotomy certificate examination and the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians basic certification examination.

If you are interested in a career as a registered nurse or a respiratory therapist, you will be required to complete a four-year bachelor's degree program at YSU. If you choose to exit the program after 12th grade, you will be qualified for a career as a:
· Certified phlebotomy technologist

Instruction includes significant hands-on, laboratory-based projects in the Tech Prep classroom, at YSU, and during visits to:
· Community hospitals
· Long term care facilities
· Outpatient centers
