YSU Police
Youngstown State University places a high priority on the safety of its students and staff. To assure you of the best possible protection, the University employs a highly trained campus police force supported by the latest in crime-prevention education and technology. Whether you are on the YSU campus as a student, a visitor, an employee or faculty member, you can be confident that our police department is working to keep you safe.

With a student enrollment of 12,000, and a faculty and staff of over 1,100, Youngstown State University is, in itself, a sizeable community. That University is, in turn, a part of the Mahoning Valley community of over 600,000 residents.
We can't fight crime if we don't know about it-it's that simple. If you spot anything out of the ordinary on campus, if you think you're being followed, if someone has tampered with your locker- report it to the YSU Police. If you've been sexually assaulted-by a stranger or by someone you know-contact the YSU Police immediately. The sooner you report any crime, the better chance we have of catching the suspect.
YSU Parking Services
Our staff is dedicated to providing a safe and friendly, customer-oriented environment for the campus community. We are responsible for the maintenance of the lots and decks on campus, the issuance of permits and the enforcement of the rules and regulations adopted by the Board of Trustees. Services that we provide include jump-starting and unlocking vehicles, the loan of lug wrenches and gas cans to motorists through our Motorist Assistance Program. Assistance is available only to vehicles legally parked on campus. We also have an air station located in the M30 parking deck.

Whether you're using Kilcawley Center, other YSU campus facilities, or an off-site location, the staff at YSU Dining by Chartwells will help you coordinate every detail to ensure your event is a success. For quick boxed lunches or elaborate buffets, we strive for the best; quality food and excellent service, guaranteed! A wide variety of options are available for your event with us.
