DEGREES
ENROLLMENT
There are approximately 1,800 students enrolled in the undergraduate
programs and approximately 250 students enrolled in the master's
program.
ADMISSION
New freshmen and transfer students who are admitted to Youngstown State
University are accepted in the WCBA as Pre-Business majors. Transfer students
from both within and outside YSU must have a minimum grade point average
of 2.00 to transfer into the WCBA as a Pre-Business major.
BACCALAUREATE DEGREE PROGRAM
Students pursuing a baccalaureate degree enter the WCBA as Pre-Business
majors. Satisfactory progress toward the completion of the General Education
Requirements (GER) and Business Tool Course (TOOL) requirements must be
made before the completion of 34 semester hours of course work to retain
the Pre-Business status in the WCBA. Students who have not made satisfactory
progress within this period will no longer be permitted to continue in
the WCBA. Advisors are available for consultation regarding other major
opportunities.
To declare a business major, students are required to have: 1) junior
standing, 2) the completion of English Writing II, and all Business Tool
courses with a minimum grade of C and, 3) a minimum cumulative
grade point average (GPA) of 2.5. Students who wish to declare a business
major must apply with an academic advisor in Williamson Hall, room 408.
ASSOCIATE DEGREE PROGRAMS
The Associate in Arts in Business Administration (A.A.)
degree articulates totally with the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
(B.S. in B.A.) degree. All courses required for the business
associate degree fulfill course requirements for the business baccalaureate
degree. In order for business associate degree students to be prepared
for the rigorous content of the business upper division courses, proper
sequence of courses and proper prerequisites must be followed. Students
pursuing an Associate in Arts in Business Administration degree from the
WCBA must complete English Writing II, the required Business Tool courses,
and a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher before they are
eligible to enroll in the Business Core courses and Business Concentration
courses. Entrance to Business Core courses is through permits provided
by WCBA academic advisors in Williamson Hall, room 408.

The Departments of Accounting and Finance, Management, and Marketing
are housed in the Williamson College of Business Administration. The Department
of Economics is located in DeBartolo Hall, room 301.

Associate in Technical Studies (A.T.S.), Bachelor of
Science in Business Administration (B.S. in B.A.) and
Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.).
Baccalaureate Degree Majors: Accounting, Finance, General
Administration, Human Resource Management, Management Information Systems,
Advertising and Public Relations, Marketing Management and Business Economics.
Associate Degree Concentrations: Accounting, Finance,
Management, Marketing and Labor Studies.
