- Provide information displayed by a .pdf (portable document file)
in an html (.hrm/.html) or text (.txt) file format
- Use descriptive table headings plus <caption>table
description</table>
- When using framesets use descriptive terms for title=”describe
frame here” within frameset <frameset></frameset>tag.
Alternatively, employing a non-frames equivalent site is recommended.
- Create a definable contrast between text and background color
- Avoid blinking text
- Provide descriptive text for hypertext links (“English
Festival Society” as opposed to “for society information
click here”)
- Lift Assistive (UsableNet) software - transcodes web pages into text-only equivalents. Copy and paste code into all department web pages (meets Section 508 and ADA compliance).
- Media Access Generator (MAGpie) - creating captions and audio descriptions for rich media (i.e., Flash applications)
