ENROLLMENT
There are approximately 1,800 students enrolled in the undergraduate programs and approximately 250 students enrolled in the master's program.
ADMISSION
New freshmen and transfer students who are admitted to Youngstown State University are accepted in the WCBA as Pre-Business majors. Transfer students from both within and outside YSU must have a minimum grade point average of 2.00 to transfer into the WCBA as a Pre-Business major.
Students pursuing a baccalaureate degree enter the WCBA as Pre-Business majors. Satisfactory progress toward the completion of the General Education Requirements (GER) and Business Tool Course (TOOL) requirements must be made before the completion of 34 semester hours of course work to retain the Pre-Business status in the WCBA. Students who have not made satisfactory progress within this period will no longer be permitted to continue in the WCBA. Advisors are available for consultation regarding other major opportunities.
To declare a business major, students are required to have: 1) junior standing, 2) the completion of English Writing II, and all Business Tool courses with a minimum grade of C and, 3) a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5. Students who wish to declare a business major must apply with an academic advisor in Williamson Hall, room 408.
The Associate in Arts in Business Administration (A.A.) degree articulates totally with the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S. in B.A.) degree. All courses required for the business associate degree fulfill course requirements for the business baccalaureate degree. In order for business associate degree students to be prepared for the rigorous content of the business upper division courses, proper sequence of courses and proper prerequisites must be followed. Students pursuing an Associate in Arts in Business Administration degree from the WCBA must complete English Writing II, the required Business Tool courses, and a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher before they are eligible to enroll in the Business Core courses and Business Concentration courses. Entrance to Business Core courses is through permits provided by WCBA academic advisors in Williamson Hall, room 408.
