The English Language Institute (ELI) at Youngstown State University offers a non-credit intensive English program for students from around the globe. Classes are available to college-bound students, permanent residents, immigrants, and special interest groups.

Youngstown State University is a state-affiliated metropolitan institution that enrolls over 12,000 students. More than 100 undergraduate majors and 24 graduate programs are housed in its seven colleges: Arts and Sciences, Business Administration, Education, Engineering and Technology, Fine and Performing Arts, Health and Human Services, and the School of Graduate Studies. The university is fully accredited.

The 130-acre Youngstown State University campus is located in Youngstown, Ohio, a one-hour drive from Cleveland, Ohio and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and 400 miles from the cities of New York and Chicago.
