Minitab software, a two day course, will be taught prior to the Six Sigma Black/Green Belt program. The Green Belt training (56 hours) will be scheduled the first two days of the week. The class will be extended an additional 2½ days for those wishing to obtain Black Belt training (126 hours). There will be a three week break between each session for project work.
Training is presented via instructor-led discussion, lecture, PowerPoint presentation, group presentations and exercises. Work outside of class is required, including individual projects.
The define/measure, analyze, control, and improve control steps are taught for projects of immediate significance. The course will cover the DMAIC methods using Minitab software. Prerequisite: Minitab. This software will be used throughout the Green Belt training for data collection and interpretation. Minitab student version 14, refreshment breaks, and lunch are included in the cost of the class. Bring your laptop computer; if you do not have one, we will provide one for your use in the class. Certificate of completion will be provided after you document results from your project.

Dan, President of Advanced Quality Leadership, has over 25 years experience as a quality manager, quality engineer, and industrial statistician. His Six Sigma experience includes two years as a manufacturing black belt, and five years as an international implementation and training Master Black Belt. The majority of his career has been spent with General Electric Lighting.
He is a senior member of the American Society for Quality, a certified quality engineer, and a member of the American Statistical Association. He has published articles in ASQ's Journal of Quality Technology and was awarded ASQ's Brumbaugh Award. He is also a chapter co-author in the Juran Quality Control Handbook, fourth edition.
Dan holds a B.S. degree in Actuarial Science and an M.S. degree in Statistics from Ball State University, and an M.S. degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Iowa.
