American Red Cross Certifications
To sign up for a scheduled class, please contact Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center at 330-941-3488. For scheduled classes we must have a minimum of six participants or the class will be rescheduled. All American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED for the Workplace Courses can be scheduled for groups no smaller than six in number. Please contact Michael Bowman at 330-941-1964 to schedule a group for a class.
Standard First Aid with Adult CPR
The purpose of the American Red Cross First Aid course is to provide individuals in the workplace the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and assist with basic first aid for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive and can take over. This course also includes information on breathing or cardiac emergencies. Upon successful course completion, each participant will receive an American Red Cross Universal Certificate indicating First Aid that is valid for three years and another indicating Adult CPR that is valid for one year.

Adult CPR/AED
The purpose of the American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED course is to afford individuals in the workplace the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide basic care for breathing emergencies, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. Upon successful course completion, each participant will receive an American Red Cross Universal Certificate indicating Adult CPR/AED that is valid for one year.

Lifeguard CPR, AED, O2, Recertification
The purpose of this course is to recertify current Lifeguards in Blood Born Pathogen, CPR, AED and Oxygen Administration. This program provides lifeguards with current certifications necessary in order to guard for the upcoming year.

Lifeguard Course
The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding program is to provide lifeguards with skills and knowledge necessary to keep patrons of aquatic facilities safe both in and around the water. This program includes training with aquatic-specific first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training, Blood Born Pathogen and AED.

Lifeguarding Instructor Course
The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor course is to train instructor candidates to teach Lifeguard Training (including first aid), Lifeguard Management, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED Essentials, Oxygen Administration for the Professional Rescuer, Preventing Disease Transmission, Community Water Safety and Basic Water Rescue. The training in this instructor course prepares instructor candidates by developing their understanding of how to use course materials, how to conduct training sessions and how to evaluate participants’ progress.
