Baseball to Conclude Fall Season with Red-White World Series
Youngstown
-- The Youngstown State baseball
team will conclude its fall practice
season with the Red-White World
Series, which begins Sunday morning
at Eastwood Field.
The World Series will be an intra-squad scrimmage and
best-of-three format. First pitch
for game one on Sunday is set for 11
a.m. Game two will be Tuesday at 4
p.m., and game three is scheduled
for Wednesday at 3:15 p.m.
Games will be seven innings, and pitchers will face no more
than six batters in one inning.
"I'm very excited about how this fall has gone," head coach
Rich Pasquale said. "We had a number
of objectives at the outset, and I
think that we've accomplished all of
them."
"We had a lot of newcomers, and they've adjusted very well to
our mentality. Everything we do is
game speed, and I've been pleased
with how everyone has responded with
a lot of energy every day. Hopefully
we can continue that into our
individual work."
"We were able to take a lot of reps defensively, and it has
been very important to have that
on-field work," Pasquale said.
First-year assistant coach Tom Lipari will manage the Red
squad while veteran assistant Craig
Antush will coach the White team.
Lipari has announced Trent Wood as
his game-one starter while Antush
has not named the first starter for
the white squad.
