Jack Liles Scores 12 Points as Penguins Fall to Maryland, 73-49   

College Park, Md. -- Senior Jack Liles scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds and junior DeAndre Mays added 11 points and seven boards but the Youngstown State men's basketball team dropped a 73-49 decision to Maryland on Tuesday evening at the Comcast Center.

Men's Basketball Visits Maryland For First-Ever Meeting   
Two 600-win coaches square off when the Youngstown State men’s basketball team visits ACC-member Maryland on Tuesday at the Comcast Center in College Park, Md. YSU’s Jerry Slocum enters the game with 610 career victories while Maryland’s Gary Williams has won 605 career games. The Youngstown State men's basketball team begins its 79th season of play when it hosts Buffalo, Saturday, Nov. 15, in the 2008-09 season opener. Tipoff is slated for 7:05 p.m. at the Beeghly Center. Men's Basketball Signs All-State Recruit Lamar McKnight   
Head Coach Jerry Slocum announced Wednesday that Lamar McKnight, a Division IV Third-Team All-Ohio selection, has signed a National Letter of Intent during the early signing period to join the Youngstown State men’s basketball program.
McKnight, a 6-foot-5, 205-pound forward from Bedford St. Peter Chanel High School, averaged a double-double as a junior. Release
