Lynch, Volkova Pick Up Singles Victories at ITA Midwest Regionals

Ann Arbor, Mich. -- Anna Volkova and Sarah Lynch each earned a win at singles at the ITA Midwest Regionals on Thursday afternoon. Volkova defeated Martina Schnapp from Northern Ilinois, 6-1, 6-1. Lynch battled with Mariam Westerlink from Eastern Michigan to three sets winning 4-6, 6-2, 7-5. Release

Men's Tennis Concludes Fall Season at ITA Midwest Regionals   
Columbus, Ohio -- Michael Kathary and Patrick Hamning traveled to Ohio State University to play in the ITA Midwest Regionals which concluded on Sunday afternoon. Kathary played in the qualifying round of singles against Matthew Hanson of Northern Illinois and teamed up with Hamning to play qualifying doubles against Illinois. Release   
Welch Wins Three Rounds of Singles at IPFW Invitational   
Fort Wayne, Ind. -- The Youngstown State women's tennis team played in its final fall invitational this weekend at IPFW. The Penguins competed against teams from Detroit, Evansville, Valparaiso and IPFW. No team scores were kept in the three- day long event. Release | Stats   
Men's Tennis Wraps Up Weekend Play at Valpo Invitational   
Valparaiso, Ind. -- The YSU men's tennis team traveled to Valpo to play in the weekend invitational hosted by the Crusaders. YSU faced Dayton and four Horizon League schools including Detroit, Green Bay, UIC and Valpo. No team scores were kept in the two-day event. Release | Stats   
Men's Tennis Picks Up 5-2 Win over St. Francis (Pa.)   
Youngstown -- The YSU men's tennis swept St. Francis (Pa.)in doubles and won four of the six singles matches to earn the 5-2 win on Sunday afternoon at the YSU tennis courts. At No. 1 singles Patrick Hamning won his match, 7-5, 6-1 over Steve Kowalski. Michael Kathary played in the No. 1 spot beating ,Andrei Sandu 6-3, 6-4. Release | Stats
