Cross Country Squads Wrap-Up Season at Great Lakes Regional Championships

-- The Youngstown State men's
cross country team finished in 23rd,
while the women placed 28th at the
Great Lakes Regional Championships on
Saturday afternoon.
Pacing the men was sophomore Jake Lape, who finished in 92nd
with a 10k time of 33:38. The second
finisher for the Guins was junior
Justin Dickman who took 122nd after
running a time of 34:22. In 137th
was sophomore Jake Dialesandro
running a time of 34:47.
Sophomore Jim Ramson took 155th after his 10k time of 35:22.
The final scorer for the men was
sophomore Rick Lape, who took 162nd
with a time of 35:38. Also running
was sophomore Joe Copploe who ran a
time of 35:54, good for 168th.
On the day, the Penguins finished
better than Horizon League foes
Valparaiso, Wright State, and Green
Bay.
For the women, junior Lauren Blase was the first Penguin to
finish with a time of 23:32, good
for 119th. Sophomore Kayla Witmer
ran a 6k time of 23:37, finishing in
125th. In 182nd was freshman Jocelyn
Steiner, who ran a time of 24:50.
Junior Lisa Lee finished the course with a time of 26:11, finishing in 208th. The final scorer for the women's squad was senior Amy Moore. Moore finished in 212th after running a time of 26:22.
Also competing for the women was junior Dawn Goodwin as well as senior Madelyn McGhee. Goodwin finished in 216th with a time of 26:31, while McGhee crossed the finish line at 27:19, good for 226th.
The women finished better Horizon League members Wright State, Green Bay, Detroit, and Cleveland State.
