Blase Named Horizon League Cross Country Athlete of the Week
Indianapolis, Ind. -- The
Horizon League has announced that
YSU junior runner Lauren Blase
(Youngstown, Ohio) has been named
Cross Country Athlete of the Week.
Blase finished first among Horizon
League competitors at the All-Ohio
Championships. She finished the 5K
race in 19:39 to finish the event in
51st and lead Youngstown State to a
22nd place team finish.
Out of four events this season, Blase has led the Penguins
three times, including the last two
events. This is the first time this
season Blase has earned the Athlete
of the Week award.
