Monday, Nov. 7, 5:30 p.m. YSU provides information on College Credit Plus, a program that allows middle and high school students to earn college credit, at an event in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center on campus. Parking is available in the Wick Avenue deck accessible via Walnut Street. Motorists are advised to watch for posted detours as construction progresses on Wick Avenue. Monday, Nov. 7, 6:30 p.m. Justin Gest, a public policy scholar who spent months studying Youngstown as an example of the loss of political power of white working class America, will discuss his findings and his book, The New Minority: White Working Class Voters in an Age of Immigration and Inequality, at the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry of Industry. Doors for the event, which is free and open to the public, open at 6 p.m. for refreshments and the program begins at 6:30 at the Center located at 151 W. Wood Street.

Monday, Nov. 7, 7:30 p.m. The Dana School of Music presents a free Fall Choral Concert, “Heaven Meets Earth in Song,” at St. Columba Cathedral, 159 W. Rayen Ave., Youngstown. Two Dana vocal groups – the Dana Chorale and University Chorus, under the direction of Hae-Jong Lee – will perform a variety of classical and contemporary pieces, highlighted by Bach’s Magnificat, one of the greatest choral works ever written. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. YSU’s Williamson College of Business Administration, in conjunction with the Junior Achievement of the Mahoning Valley, hosts “BUSINESS 2020” in the Chestnut Room in Kilcawley Center on the YSU campus. More than 500 students will represent 19 high schools from the tri-county area. Panel sessions will be offered showcasing various aspects of business including skill assessment and major exploration, careers in business, and financial literacy.

Wednesday, Nov. 9, 12:15 p.m. The YSU Dana School of Music presents a free Music and Noon concert featuring the Saxophone Studio in the Butler Institute of American Art. Free.

Wednesday, Nov. 9, 6 p.m. YSU women’s volleyball takes on Northern Kentucky in Beeghly Center.

Friday, Nov. 11. Veterans Day. No classes.

Friday, Nov. 11, 7 p.m. YSU women’s basketball tips off the 2016-17 season against American in Beeghly Center.

Saturday, Nov. 12, noon. The Penguins football squad concludes the regular season home schedule vs. Southern Illinois at Stambaugh Stadium.

Saturday, Nov. 12, 7:45 p.m. YSU men’s basketball opens the 2016-17 regular season against the Akron Zips in Beeghly Center.
